Discussion rules
Argue hard about ideas, never about people. Bring a source when you can.
- Be civil. No insults, threats, slurs or hate aimed at anyone, including people in the files.
- Name your source. A link or a book and page lets everyone check it. Unsourced guesses are welcome when you say they are guesses.
- Nothing made up about real, living people. Do not accuse a real person of a crime or a lie without a public record to point to.
- No spam or selling. At most two links per post. Links from brand-new members wait for a quick check.
- No private details. No addresses, phone numbers or other people's personal information.
- 13 or older. Accounts are for readers 13 and up.
How we keep it clean
Everyone can clean up their own view. Hide on any post hides it for you, and Block hides everything one person posts, for you only. When enough readers hide or report a post, it moves for everyone into the Hidden section at the end of the discussion, marked with how many readers hid it. Report also tells a moderator.
Posting needs a free account, and fast or repeated posting is slowed down. An automatic spam check runs on every post, and words we do not allow are blocked. Moderators can hide or remove posts and block accounts that break these rules. To ask about a removed post, use the contact page.
