What is Pat Ryder known for?
Patrick S. Ryder is a US Air Force officer who served as Pentagon Press Secretary, the Defense Department's chief spokesman, from 2022 to 2025, holding the rank of brigadier general and later major general.
On March 8, 2024, he issued the Department's statement releasing Volume I of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office's report on the historical record of US government involvement with UAP. The review covered official investigations since 1945 and drew on classified and unclassified archives and interviews.
Ryder's statement summarized AARO's main finding: it had found no verifiable evidence that the US government or private companies had access to, or had reverse-engineered, extraterrestrial technology. The report attributed many such claims to circular reporting and misidentified secret programs. Supporters of whistleblower David Grusch disputed its conclusions.
