What is Krishna known for?

Krishna is one of the most widely worshipped Hindu gods, honored as the eighth avatar of Vishnu and, in some traditions, as the supreme god himself. Stories of his childhood among cowherds in Vrindavan appear in the Harivamsa and the Bhagavata Purana.

In the Mahabharata he is the cousin and ally of the Pandava brothers. He serves as Arjuna's charioteer at the battle of Kurukshetra, and their conversation before the battle is the Bhagavad Gita. He rules from the city of Dvaraka, which the epic says the sea swallowed after his death.

The Hindu tradition counts his death as the start of the Kali Yuga, the present age. On this site he appears in the Mahabharata stories of divine weapons, the flying city of Saubha, and Dvaraka's flooding.

Why it is on Credible Theories

He runs through the Mahabharata pages: Kurukshetra, Saubha, the Kali Yuga and the drowned city of Dvaraka.
